Wooden posts are also usually slightly thicker than normal posts, so you may experience some initial discomfort, but your ears will normal stretch and adjust to the new thicker posts.
One final reason that you might be looking at wood earrings is because you can buy 100% organic wood earrings. These are far more gentle on the environment than any metal earring, because wood does in fact grow on trees! The majority of other metals used in jewelry today are dug out of the ground, causing massive environmental damage in the process. There are also often social issues centered around the mining of precious metals in developing countries, and buy purchasing wood earrings you are not just taking a stand against these practices, but are also taking an active step in your life to promote change.
